Kolor-Bond KB25-60 Black waterproof worktop joint sealant and adhesive

Kolor-Bond KB25-60 in Black is a flexible, water-based and solvent-free joint sealant and adhesive for kitchen worktops, vanity tops and compatible work surfaces. The semi-gel formula helps seal worktop joints and protect exposed chipboard cores against moisture penetration.

The 70g tube provides enough material for up to three standard 600 mm worktop joints, depending on the joint design and the amount applied. It is made in the UK and supplied as one tube.

Colour and mixing information

Important: Product colours shown on screen are representative only and are not guaranteed to be exact colour matches. Test the sealant on an inconspicuous area and allow it to dry before completing the joint.

These water-based Kolor-Bond shades can be mixed with compatible colours from the same range. Mix with Kolor-Bond White to create a lighter shade, or mix with Kolor-Bond Black or Brown to create a darker shade. Always mix a small test sample first, allow it to dry and check the result against the worktop. Record the proportions and prepare enough mixed material for the complete joint because an exact colour match cannot be guaranteed between separately mixed batches.

How to use Kolor-Bond

1. Check that both worktop edges fit correctly before applying the product.
2. Ensure the joint edges and surrounding surfaces are clean, completely dry and free from dust, grease and loose material.
3. Apply an even amount of Kolor-Bond to the joint surfaces and exposed chipboard core, following the worktop manufacturer’s fitting requirements.
4. Bring the worktop sections together and tighten the worktop connector bolts evenly. Do not overtighten.
5. Smooth any visible sealant at the joint to form a consistent moisture-resistant seal.
6. Remove excess material promptly with a clean damp cloth before it dries.
7. Inspect the complete joint and allow the product to dry before exposing it to water or normal use.
8. For dried residue, use a suitable scraper carefully. Only use additional cleaning products if the worktop manufacturer confirms they are safe for the surface.
